I can never find my flat in the dark, so to make it easier, I made this glow in the dark sign for my door.
First the laser cutter engraves out the pattern, leaving a 1mm deep gap, which gets filled with glow in the dark powder and some clear polyurethane varnish to keep it in place. When it’s dry, the powder is permenantly sealed in there and the whole thing gets sanded flat.
in retrospect polyeurethane was a bad choice, an epoxy resin would have worked much better.
